Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Monroe

I live nearby and have stayed here twice, mostly to use the pool. That's the highlight: it's outdoors, very clean, and part of it is covered, which made swimming with the family peaceful even in the rain. It's on the small side, with a 5-foot deep end and a 2-foot shallow end. One visit we had it to ourselves, and other times a few people came and went. Staff were helpful. Breakfast wasn't great, but you get what you pay for. One way to get a free night is to join Wyndham rewards and buy 7,500 points for $65.

The room was nice and breakfast was great, but people from the hotel next door crowded the pool. The night desk person just closed the lobby and didn't address it. I was offered an extra hour to use the pool, but pool shock kept it closed until 11:30. Nice place, though keep an eye on the hotel next door.

The amenities aren't good. The pool is seasonal, and the showers didn't work. Maintenance wasn't available. Breakfast was poor, just things like milk, cereal, and toast.

An average place to stay, as long as you don't expect everything to be perfect. The staff were nice, our room was fairly clean, and there was a continental breakfast. The toilets and other things are older.
