Laine was wonderful when I needed to change rooms. The first one smelled so strong that my allergies kicked in right away, and she saw how bad it was, moved me, and even carried my things. She really went out of her way to make me comfortable. The night was a different story. People in the hallway were slamming doors, running around, and talking and laughing loudly. I was woken at midnight, 1am, and 3am. The desk said they could ask the group to quiet down but couldn’t do more. I know Marriott has a quiet hour policy, and I can’t risk staying here again or recommend it. I need sleep, especially when I’m driving. Laine’s kindness was overshadowed by the rest of the night. I talked to Jamie in the morning. She apologized several times and took $50 off the stay. That was a kind, professional gesture, but it didn’t give me back the sleep I lost. I left very disappointed.

Every employee we met was kind, and breakfast was well stocked with nothing to complain about. But our room, 202, was filthy. My family and I stopped for one night on a road trip, and the cleanliness reviews I’d read did not match what we found. There were even pubic hairs left in the shower and on the bathroom counter. I posted photos, and the room was dirty, period. I don’t expect a roadside hotel to be five star, but I do expect a clean, well-kept room from a Marriott. I would never stay here again and would drive 20 minutes farther to one of the newer hotels on the west side of town.

We only stayed two days, but this place would work for a longer stay too. The room feels like a small apartment, with a large fridge, stovetop and good exhaust fan, microwave, and comfortable bed. The shower was very good. Better pillows would have made it a five star stay. The team at Townplace is welcoming, helpful, and good at what they do. Breakfast was good, and the lobby flows into the dining area. It’s a comfortable place to work and live out of, in a great location.

The whole stay was a disaster. We arrived around 9:00 p.m. and there was a person who appeared homeless, with their face covered, hanging around inside by reception and the breakfast area, staring at guests. They kept walking in and out of the doors even after 1:00 a.m. The workers watched and did nothing. I’m not against homeless people, but this felt strange and made us very uncomfortable as a group of women traveling together. Our first room, 101, had sticky stuff on the floor and French fries scattered around. A kind female worker with glasses moved us to room 204 around 10:00 p.m. One person in our party had to use the sofa bed, which was disgusting, with a footlong dark brown urine stain and metal wires you could feel through it. The bedroom AC only blew hot air, even when the thermostat was turned down, and the room was 78°. At 1:00 in the morning I called to ask for help fixing it or moving us. The employee said neither was possible, and maintenance wouldn’t be there until 5:00 a.m. We had to leave by 7:00, so that was no help. Nobody slept, and the $184 room was a complete waste. At checkout another employee just said they didn’t have anyone who could fix things in the middle of the night. No one offered help or even a partial refund, and everyone acted like it wasn’t a big deal. This was a different employee from the one who helped with the first room. I usually stay with Hilton, but tried this Marriott property randomly and won’t do that again.

Laine was so kind and thoughtful after our Airbnb got canceled because of the ice storm. We’d had to sleep in our car the night before, so we really appreciated her care. Great location and service, too.
