Tru by Hilton Monroe OH

The hotel looks nice, with modern touches, but the stay was frustrating and missed basic hospitality needs. I asked the front desk for a desk chair because my room didn’t have one. They said they were busy and would bring it later, but it never came, so I couldn’t work in the room. There was no hot water in either the shower or sink, so I couldn’t shower. Kids ran through the halls and banged loudly on my door. I was traveling with my own children and understand family settings, but this was too noisy and there wasn’t enough oversight. Between that, the missing chair, the failed request, and no hot water, I won’t stay here again. There are better nearby choices if you need to work or wash up.

I only had a short stay, arriving late and heading out early, but the place was really clean and the breakfast stood out. The pancake machine made them automatically, which I’d never seen before, and there were lots of syrup choices. I’d come back.

Breakfast was okay, and I enjoyed watching Euphoria on HBO Sunday night. The room itself was clean, but there was no hot water for my 8 am shower. The chair was so low and couldn’t be adjusted, so I couldn’t use it.

Our room was just right, and the hard floors instead of carpet worked well for us. It was very clean, and the workers were friendly. I’d been uneasy after seeing some negative reviews and photos, but arriving put those worries to rest. We didn’t get to check out the pool or exercise room, though they looked great. We’ll book again soon when we visit family who live nearby.
