Rodeway Inn Sweetwater

There weren’t many quality hotels in the area, so I picked roadway because it was convenient. I was pleasantly surprised: the room was neat and clean, with no bugs, bad smells, or noisy neighbors. The front desk attendant was polite, clear, and easy to work with. I’ll stay here next time I’m working in town.

For $50 to $70 a night, this was a good place to stay. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked. The main drawback was the hot water. I had to find just the right valve position to get anything warm, and even then it was lukewarm. I was in room 222, so maybe it’s only an issue there. The tub was a bit dingy but clean. Washcloths hang on the towel rack outside the bathroom, which I didn’t realize until after my shower, so I used a towel instead. Sorry about the soap, housekeeper. Breakfast was fine: waffles, muffins, small bagels, a couple kinds of cereal, coffee, and orange juice. The night clerk was very helpful; I didn’t deal with anyone else. For road noise, a white noise app might help, but phone speakers aren’t great. A Lectrofan is small enough to pack, and once plugged in, it should cover the other noise.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff were very nice. I stayed one night while traveling and have no complaints. This isn’t a resort, just a good stop for a night or two on the way through. I’ll stay again when I’m passing through to the mountains.

I booked online because it said pets were allowed, and I always check for that even though I have a service dog. They refused to give me a room because I had the dog with me. That left me stuck with my online booking and out the money at this supposedly pet friendly motel. I don’t recommend it.
