We loved having a private beach and being away from the crowds. It's not right by Montauk's center of attraction, but it's only an 8-10 minute drive, and that bit of distance suited us. We could reserve a beach seat every morning, the room was cleaned daily, and the pool was great, not too cold.

We always have a great time at Driftwood on the Ocean in Montauk and love the oceanfront driftwood. One thing about room # 14: the bathroom has just one tiny face mirror. A full-length mirror on the closet door and a shelf for toiletries in the bathroom would be easy additions that guests would really appreciate.

The room itself was decent, but I couldn't control or switch off the air purifier or dehumidifier at night. It kept clicking on and off and was so loud all night that I couldn't sleep at all, even though the location was otherwise peaceful.

The natural setting and service are what make Driftwood on the Ocean memorable. The staff were friendly and attentive, and their care showed throughout the stay. Rooms and suites are spacious, nicely furnished, and blend coastal style with modern comforts. There's direct access to clean sandy beach, where you can sunbathe, stroll, or simply sit with a book. The resort also has a seasonal outdoor pool, fitness center, and on-site dining. From the peaceful atmosphere and ocean views to the comfortable accommodations, it felt like a relaxing escape. It could suit a couple, a family, or someone traveling alone.

My family has been coming to the Driftwood for years, and we love it. It's a great place for a week or weekend of family beach time and relaxation, with easy beach access, a heated pool, grills, and outdoor patios. There are lots of amenities, and I can't think of a better resort motel for families.
