The room was adequate and clean, and the AC worked well, but the rest of the hotel was just so-so. The halls were warm and muggy, with a mildew smell. They advertise a laundry room, but three of the four dryers were out of order. I waited there for over two hours, past 11 pm, trying to get my clothes dried before work at 5 the next morning. I was here for a week on a work trip. The location was awful, with nothing nearby except a gas station across the interstate. I’m not sure I’d choose a Candlewood again.

I travel for work a lot, and this was one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. I was there for a week, and the room was dirty. The TV worked only some of the time, and the sink leaked. I told staff, but it wasn’t fixed. They never took out the trash or brought clean towels while I was there. The grill out back was nasty, and staff were rarely at the front desk. I’ve told my company we won’t stay here again.

We keep choosing this Candlewood because it’s near my father-in-law’s house, and every visit has been peaceful. The rooms are what you’d expect, clean and basic, with a comfortable bed. Check-in is quick, and downtown is only a few minutes away. It’s a handy spot off the highway when traveling. There are other places we could stay, but whoever is at the front desk always greets us with a big smile and genuinely asks how our day is going. The friendly staff are why I’m giving it five stars.
