Ocean Surf Resort

The balcony looking out over the pool and beach was the highlight, and the pool itself was lovely and well cared for. The rooms feel quite dated and need work, and the bathrooms were cramped for what I paid. Parking is limited. Still, the location is excellent, with everything within walking distance, and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

The room was tiny and had no balcony, despite being advertised with one. Nothing looked like the online photos when we booked. The bed was rock hard, and the sofa had metal bars that kept digging into my back, so I ended up sleeping on the floor, which was more comfortable. I paid over $700 and drove more than four hours just to sleep on the ground. The check-in and check-out times made no sense, parking was limited and cost extra, and there was no 24-hour service like other hotels offer. The beachside location was nice, but this was way overpriced. Total scam, find somewhere else.

The room had a fridge, kitchenette sink and stove, plus glasses and plates. It was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. From the deck, it’s only about 20 steps to the beach, with a great view. The deck door lock was broken, but they’d installed a metal pole lock that worked perfectly. The bathroom was small, though the modern shower had great pressure. The mounted soap dispenser was empty, which was annoying since I’d forgotten to pack soap. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly, though they aren’t there around the clock. Parking was ample. The pool was covered because it was a rainy weekend, but it looked nice and had plenty of loungers. I visited early in the season, so it was very quiet. I’ll definitely stay again.

I came Wednesday through Friday when there were hardly any people around. It was peaceful, quiet, and exactly what I needed. I’ll be back next year to recharge and clear my head.
