El Castell Motel

The staff are wonderful and helpful, and the rooms are very clean. You can text if you need extra towels, cleaning, or coffee refills, and they reply quickly and take care of it. The location is convenient and makes it easy to get around. I didn’t use the pool, though other reviews say it’s a nice experience. The stay was budget-friendly, and I actually extended it. I’d definitely come back!

I’m here on vacation with my seven-year-old, and the heated pool has been amazing for the kids. The place feels family oriented. My daughter met twins her age when we arrived, and they’ve planned a pool playdate for tomorrow. The room is spotless, and it’s a prime location. We’re so grateful and happy, and I’ll definitely come back, stay longer, and try a suite. I wish the Italian restaurant across the street were open. I’d also suggest putting down throw rugs so people don’t slip. We both slipped, so I put towels down.

The clean, spacious room was a great value, even though it wasn’t fancy. The pool was clean and described as warmed, though it didn’t feel warm. It stayed close enough to room temperature that I could enjoy swimming in mid-January. The room assignment was frustrating. I’d booked and prepaid directly on the website for a one-bedroom suite so I could have privacy and my mom wouldn’t have to listen to me snore. Nobody told us the room type had changed, so I only discovered it after walking into the open-layout room with three queens. At the front desk, I was told the reserved room was sold out due to a website error. The only option offered was to move us to the room type we’d booked for the last night. I showed my confirmation email, and I understand a new website can lead to overbooking, but the lack of warning and choice about the replacement really bothered me. I would much rather have switched to two rooms with one queen bed each.

We enjoyed gathering with family in the little lounge and eating the breakfasts we’d brought from home, without having to rush out for an expensive meal. The rooms were clean and spacious, and I appreciated the heated pool. Housekeeping, especially Aurora, was very kind and friendly.
