Leaving after three nights at Padre Oaks was hard. It felt safe and homey, and we were treated well at this family-run place. The staff were approachable and hospitable, and everything worked. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning around our things and replacing towels and linens, and our valuables were left untouched. I’d feel just as comfortable returning on a solo trip. The price is hard to beat.

We spent six nights here over Christmas, using it as a base for hiking and biking. The location worked well, with easy highway access, Del Monte Mall and its restaurants nearby, and downtown Monterey about a 20-minute walk away. It isn’t scenic and there’s no ocean view, and traffic from the main road can be a nuisance. Parking is free but limited. The rooms are clean and basic, and the internet worked well. For what we paid, it was a fantastic value.

The bed was comfortable and the place was nice overall. My room looked clean, though I still wiped things down with Lysol and did find a few dirty spots. They put me in a handicapped room with a walk-in shower, which I hadn’t requested. I’ll be here for a week, so I may update this.

We were comfortable during our two-night stay, and the property was spotless and very well cared for. The owners were extremely friendly, and all the flowers around the place made it feel welcoming and charming. It’s a good choice if you don’t want to spend a fortune on a room. Highly recommend it.
