Hilton Garden Inn Montgomery East

We got in around midnight and left about 9 in the morning. The gentleman who checked us in was nice, though his asking if we'd made it into the room and saying he'd be there all night felt a little creepy. Maybe that's a Hilton thing, but I haven't had a front desk person ask that before. Aside from that, the stay was great. Breakfast is way too expensive, though. Chickfila is down the road and more reasonably priced.

Raheem, one of the housekeepers, turned a rough check-in around for me. I needed a first-floor room for health reasons, but the attendant first offered me one on the fourth floor. After seeing how disappointed I was, Raheem, who was standing nearby, prompted me to ask her to check the computer again. She then found a first-floor room. I was excited until I saw its door was half open and the room hadn't been cleaned. Back at the desk, I was told only second- or fourth-floor rooms were available and housekeeping had gone for the day, so they couldn't clean it. Raheem stepped in and said he'd take care of the room himself. He cleaned it perfectly and told me he wanted my stay to be pleasant and satisfying because I deserved that. Thank you so much, Raheem, for making me feel welcome and accommodating my needs.

The staff were kind and quick to help when my husband realized he'd left his credit card at the hotel after breakfast. We called, and they'd locked it in a drawer behind the counter, so we could pick it up on our way home instead of dealing with canceling it. We'd only stayed about eight hours on an overnight stop. The sheets were clean, which was what mattered most to us, but the room could have used more attention. I found a half-eaten old cheeseburger in the microwave when I went to warm water for my child's bottle, and there was trash on the windowsill when we opened the blinds. Better room cleaning would make this a perfect stop.

The room was great and the location was good. The door handle was annoying to figure out, especially with your hands full, and several other people seemed to be having the same trouble outside their rooms. Once you get the knack, it's okay. Just know the buffet breakfast isn't free, you have to pay for it.
