Monticello Motel

The manager is extremely rude, and the place needs new management, renovation, and upgrades. It’s rundown, but it seems to have a good foundation and could be decent. Instead, it’s disgusting, with no sunlight coming in and boarded-up windows. The air conditioners don’t even work. The manager says the Wi-Fi is “broke,” but I think he just doesn’t want to pay the bill. It’s downtown Monticello across from the police station, so you’d think they’d want to impress people. I definitely don’t recommend it.

The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels and soap, and we didn’t see any bugs. Our toilet was broken, but someone came to fix it in about 15 minutes. The room was clean and a great price. I just wish they’d turned on the air before we arrived, and there was only one outlet available for charging. I’d stay again.

We stopped here late with friends, and the night clerk acted like we were bothering her. In the morning, none of our rooms had hot water. The owners were there and were just as rude as the staff. We were told to turn the water on and it would work, as if we hadn’t already tried that for ten minutes before asking. After he tried a bunch of things, there still wasn’t any hot water. Crappy place, don’t stay here. Anywhere else would be better.

We had to stop here while traveling, but it was way overpriced. It really is a roach motel, there were roaches in room 1. If you’ve got a few extra bucks, don’t stay here. If you’re stuck with no other choice, it is what it is. Last time I came, room 6 had no water pressure.
