The Atomic Blue Motor-Inn

For the money, I have no regrets. The room was clean and had a cute 1950s retro look, though it was pretty bare bones. Hardwood floors were a plus, and the bed and pillows were fair, not great. The stand-up shower was about the size of a phone booth, so soaping up was tricky, though I kind of liked it. It had two shower heads and plenty of volume. The small office had a coffee bar menu board, but it was closed during my stay. It's the highest-rated motel in town on Google Maps. It's right on the highway, so semis make quite a bit of noise. That would bother finicky sleepers. You could ask for a room at the back, but might still hear traffic.

The Google prices were way off: a two-bed room was $100, though I still thought it was a very nice place. From outside, it looks like a cheap roadside motel, but the rooms have all been redone. The older woman at the counter was nice, and it looked like an American-owned business, which is rare these days.

The rooms were spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and modern conveniences like a flat-screen TV, microwave, and fridge. They were tastefully updated while keeping the feel of an authentic 1950s motel. We had a great stay and a really cool experience.

For such a low price, this was the best motel I've stayed in. It's a cute little place that exceeded my expectations: the room felt newly renovated and was very clean, with plenty of towels, nice hot water, a coffee maker, and a mini fridge. The gentleman who checked us in was welcoming and friendly. They also sell lots of neat trinkets in the lobby.
