SureStay Plus by Best Western Montrose

We stayed five nights, and there was no housekeeping at all. I asked the front desk to arrange a detailed cleaning the next day and mentioned the spider I'd found, but was told it would be scheduled. It never happened. On the first night, the sheets and pillowcases were stained. When I asked to change rooms, the guy at the desk said they were full and offered clean sheets, then shut the office door. I had to replace the sheets and covers myself, and while doing that I found a big spider on the old bed cover. Breakfast started out good, but the juice machine was broken. The next day it was still broken and there was no fruit. On day three, there was no yogurt either, and the coffee machine was out of order. I'd rather pay a little more for a decent place. I'm never going back.

We booked three rooms and arrived late. Only one of the two rooms we checked were clean, while the other two weren't. One had a pile of dirty laundry on the floor and unmade beds. The other had dirty towels laid over the beds and beer in the fridge, which might have been fine for someone else but this room was for high school wrestlers. We didn't use the room with the unmade beds, but since our toddler had used the bathroom they refused a refund. For the room with just dirty towels, we had to buy an air mattress at Walmart for the kids. With a huge tournament in town, there were no rooms anywhere else. The hot tub was freezing, too. The front desk guy was rude and ignorant, and refused to refund us even though the woman working the night before said we could get one. Don't stay here.

We booked two rooms for one night while getting medical treatment at Montrose Hospital. The stains were shocking: gray, stained towels, bad smells in both rooms, and at least 20 huge marks on the carpet. I went home and washed absolutely everything. I knew it wouldn't be fancy, but as a Best Western I expected it to be clean enough for a quick overnight stop. It wasn't. Don't trust the pictures. Never again. 🧿🪬

Customers beware. We stayed at Sure Stay Plus by Best Western in Montrose (1655 E Main St, Montrose, CO 81401) in early Oct 2025. We went sightseeing with a do not disturb sign on the door. Several hours later, the sign was gone, and when we came back, several hundred dollars' worth of valuables had been stolen. Staff told us the Manager Manda takes these matters very seriously and would get in touch. Despite multiple messages, Manda still hasn't contacted us. We could only speak with the staff on duty, who said their written records showed the room hadn't been cleaned that day. We asked them to check the camera footage outside our room to see who entered, since that's the only way the thief could have gotten in, but we've had no response. We filed a police report. The customer service and security were terrible, and a crime happened here even though there are cameras on site.
