Minecart Motor Lodge

I felt safe and welcome here, and I’d come back for my next work trip. The whole place had an inviting, positive feel that made it easy to unwind even while traveling for business. Getting around was simple because of the accessible location, and my room was cute, cozy, and thoughtfully laid out. I really loved my stay.

The room was small, but it did the job for a quick night. The hotel has been renovated, and it was clean and cozy. We had no trouble with parking or neighboring guests, and the woman at the front desk was pleasant and spoke well. What made us decide to stay somewhere else on the way home was the long list of fees posted on the door for things like stained towels, sheets, or rags. We never relaxed, worrying even a small mistake could cost hundreds. There wasn’t a table to eat at, so we sat in the car rather than risk eating on the bed.

A good value for a night’s stop. The room was clean and the AC worked well, though figuring out the TV was a challenge. The lobby had water, coffee, Pop-Tarts, and granola bars. Calling ahead also meant they left our key in a lockbox, which was really handy.

It was so quiet that I barely heard other guests, even though the motel seemed nearly full. My room had that cute, recently updated look while keeping some vintage charm, and the classic western style suited a solo traveler like me. It could work for a couple packing light, too. The bed and linens were very comfortable, the shower got properly hot, and I liked the lobby coffee. The shops and restaurants on downtown Main Street were walkable, and there’s plenty of good hiking nearby. I’ll book here again when I’m back in Montrose.
