The Rathbone Hotel

Our delayed flight out of Montrose led us to this hotel, where David, Hannah and Baylee welcomed us. The room felt quaint and comfortable, with a roomy bedroom and bathroom that still felt cozy. We slept really well, and there was no noise or disruption. It's an easy walk to the shops and restaurants downtown, and after dinner we stopped at the bar for a drink. Jay Raible, one of the owners, was friendly and had lots of local knowledge. In the morning, we grabbed complimentary coffee in the Parlor and had a tasty breakfast: a yogurt parfait and an elk chorizo burrito at a reasonable price. I can't say enough good things about the hotel and palor. I'd highly recommend it to anyone staying in Montrose.

Sitting in the warm, comfortable parlor bar watching snow fall and the city Christmas trees glow in the windows was a highlight. The atmosphere was just right, and there are plenty of food options within walking distance, with the movie theater right next door. We had the Reuben, Chicken Parm Sandwhich, Spinach Dip and Classic Burger, all very good. The food menu has limited choices, but there's also a Happy Hour menu. Hannah, Leslie, Morgan, Baylee, David and Jared were upbeat, helpful, and great to talk with. No complaints at all. This is our goto place in Montrose. Thanks to everyone for a great stay!

We've been coming to the Rathbone parlor bar since it opened and usually enjoy the creative drinks and friendly welcome. Last night, though, the bartender's attitude was far beyond acceptable, and the service was among the rudest we've experienced. We've both worked in service, so we know what it's like to be busy or have an off day. The drinks were also really poor. We couldn't tell whether she didn't know how to make them or simply didn't care. I rarely post a bad review, but the experience left us regretting that we'd come in, so it felt right to say something about how an employee represented the business.

The location is ideal, right downtown near plenty of things to see and do. The rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious, and the beds are comfortable. I've visited Montrose for work several times, and this is easily the nicest place I've stayed. Everyone on staff is so kind, and the parlor serves delicious drinks throughout the day. The Thyme Well Spent cocktail was phenomenal too, though it's not pictured. Highly recommend staying here!
