WorldMark Portland - Waterfront Park

We went in expecting a professional sales presentation for the Portland Waterfront Park Resort program. We had first been paired with a respectful, engaging representative. Then Justin Crowley cut in without warning, announced he was “hijacking” the presentation, and the interaction changed completely. He seemed more focused on proving something to the original salesperson than talking with us. His manner was aggressive and condescending, sometimes openly mocking. He raised his voice while questioning us and got visibly upset when we wouldn't let him run our credit. He called his offer the “standard deal,” but gave us no time to think it over or ask questions. When we hesitated, he abruptly declined across the paper, stood up, threw the pen toward us on the table, and said, “I guess we’ll just sit here and wait until it’s time for you to go.” It was shocking and inappropriate. We asked to speak with leadership and were told nobody was on site. A moment later, Justin rushed behind a desk to talk to someone we later learned was Scott Clardy, the Director of Sales & Marketing for Portland Waterfront Park Resort. We were taken to an exit survey, explained what happened, and asked why leadership wouldn't talk with us. They said they didn't know. Only at checkout did we learn that Scott Clardy was the director and had chosen not to address our concerns himself. My wife and I have rarely been treated with such disrespect. The whole experience was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. It makes me worry about how owners are treated after buying into the program. We'll keep escalating the complaint until someone in real leadership takes responsibility and contacts us directly.

The location was convenient, and I walked to most places. The staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome. Great amenities too. I'd definitely stay again.

The staff were helpful and professional from check-in onward, and offered good tips for exploring. Our room was modern, spacious, and spotless, with a well-equipped kitchenette. There's also a full shared kitchen and free laundry on the first floor. The location right by the waterfront was a highlight: we could walk to Saturday Market, restaurants, food carts, and bars, and the MAX light rail was just around the corner. Valet was the only on-site parking option, and it costs extra, but the in-and-out access meant we didn't have to hunt for street parking downtown. The comfortable stay and great service made a perfect base for our Portland trip. I'd happily return to WorldMark Portland - Waterfront Park.

This is my favorite Worldmark getaway close to home. So many great spots are an easy walk away. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and they're great to ask for ideas on local food, treats, or things to do.
