Morgantown Motel

I paid over $700 for 10 days, and the room was dirty, just nasty. Of the six TV channels, four had no sound, and the Wi-Fi never worked. The bathroom sink leaked, the ceramic tile was broken and a lot of it was missing, and the sheets and towels were dirty. They wouldn't take a credit card and said cash only. The people were rude and disrespectful all around, and my door had no inside safety lock.

A customer leaving as I arrived told me, "Good luck," and shook her head. I booked through a website Google associates with this motel, but at check-in the woman said it wasn't their website, that they only take bookings by phone, and quoted a higher price. Thankfully, our card hadn't been charged. When I pointed out the Google association, she casually said they knew and needed to get it updated, then told me to get my money back. They seemed not to care that someone was using their business to scam people, but I think they were the ones doing it. The motel itself looked sketchy, and the people running it seemed even more so. Don't stay here.

It was a bed to sleep in, and the room was clean, so it wasn't all bad. The towels were pretty stained, and the walls were paper thin. I was next to the manager's suite, and the TV there was so loud it kept me awake. I even considered leaving early. For the price, I wasn't expecting the Four Seasons.

The door card didn't work, so I had to prop the door open to avoid being locked out. A maintenance man I happened to run into said he couldn't get a working card because he wasn't allowed into the office. They also made me wait outside in 14-degree weather to get the room. There was no carpet, no hot water in the shower, and half the lights were out. The blanket was literally about as thick as the room card. This is hands down the worst motel I've ever stayed in. Do not stay there.
