Motel 6 Morgantown, WV

We only needed somewhere to sleep during a 22 hour drive, but the night clerk on 5/23 made check-in unpleasant. She rolled her eyes when I arrived and seemed eager to get back to her phone. When the toilet backed up on the first flush, I didn't want to bother her. We'll drive past this hotel next time.

The room rate felt far too high for what the rooms looked like and the way staff treated me. I paid through booking.com for 3 nights, but the front desk man made an excuse and said I could only stay 2. He knew I couldn't get a refund for the third night. When I worked out the cost, paying booking.com's rate for all 3 nights but staying just 2 meant they effectively got about the full room price at their own rate. As I was leaving, he yelled at me and argued about my using the app for a discount, after being rude earlier too. They also keep a close eye on guests and harass people who come to visit you. I won't stay here again. (Sorry for sloppy review! Will come back & edit it & rewrite things better later!)

There was plenty of parking, and the room was clean with lots of hot water. I needed a place at short notice after 11pm, and booking a room was quick and easy.

I was here for business for 3 nights, and my room was never cleaned. It's not worth a penny, so find somewhere else if you can. There were several problems. The property is beside the O'Reilly parking lot, and the truck woke me several times. The bright lights and poor window coverings also made it hard to sleep. The heater didn't work; Sam kept telling me not to turn it up and to leave it on a low setting, which made it seem broken. The refrigerator wouldn't keep water cool, and Sam said it needed to be set a certain way. There was no coffee during the stated 6 -10 am hours. They said they had no cleaning crew, and Sam and his wife did all the cleaning, which took them the whole day. If you left your room, they might not get to it by the end of the day, leaving you with garbage, dirty towels, and dirt on the floor. They also warned constantly that things might be stolen if they cleaned the room, and said they wouldn't send anyone to clean it. It felt like they cut corners wherever possible. The manager, called 'Sam', was rude. That's apparently a made up name. He is an Indian gentleman and wasn't polite. The property should not be allowed to serve visitors.
