I was passing through, then had to stay an extra day to wait out the storm. The hotel was quite nice: a clean room, fitness center, and full bar and restaurant, with great service from Jeff. After a lovely dinner, I went back to sleep and heard repeated knocking. As a woman traveling alone, I usually don't answer, so when I saw an unidentified man at the door through the peephole, I stayed put. A few hours later I woke to him knocking again, this time with a woman who identified herself as hotel management. They said I had to leave because the “fire system” had been disrupted, and said the fire department was on site, but gave no other detail. I grabbed my coat, key, and dog to go outside. At the elevators, they told me to take all my luggage too, though it hadn't been clear this was a permanent evacuation. I said I needed a minute to pack, but my key had already been deactivated. The manager let me back in with a master key while I gathered my things, and they waited outside. I asked whether I should use the stairs, and they said no, which seemed odd for a fire emergency. They said the front desk would arrange a neighboring hotel, but the clerk only quoted rates for two different hotels. I was also told a “pipe burst,” which didn't match management's vague explanation upstairs. I drove around the building as I left to see if I could work out what caused the evacuation, but there were no fire trucks, police, or firefighters. Whatever happened felt sketchy, and management handled it terribly. I'll make sure I'm not charged for that night, and suggest other guests from that date check their bank statements for the expected refund. Five stars for the fitness center, dinner, and Jeff, one for the strange incident.

We were here for a weekend event at the hotel, and the service from staff was fantastic. The food served throughout the weekend was excellent, and the room was clean and spacious. I loved the stay and would come again. There was a lot of trash by the front drive, though, which spoiled the view from our front-facing window.

The parking lot sometimes smelled of cannabis, and the outside area didn't feel safe. Inside, though, the lobby was amazing and the welcome from staff was warm. The nearby Bellagio Restaurant was pretty good. The rooms were moderate in size, with really good bathrooms, showers, and White Tea bath products. I loved the Heavenly Bed and the lineup of bath and bed products in the room, and the TV had good channels. The Westin is a great hotel and sits near the heart of Mt. Laurel, which makes it handy for a vacation.

We made a last-minute choice to stay here on an unexpected travel day, and I wasn't expecting much. Ian at the front desk was exceptionally friendly when I arrived. As a longtime Marriott customer and Titanium member, I've noticed customer service and benefits declining over the last several years. It had been many years since someone welcomed me like Ian did. He knew just what to say and clearly explained the hotel and its amenities. He was kind and professional, and made it feel like the Marriott from more than 20 years ago. If this hotel is on your route, I'd recommend staying and saying hello to Ian. The hotel itself was very nice, and the lobby smelled really good. The rooms were clean, attractively decorated, and clearly more recently updated.
