Days Inn & Suites Mt Pleasant

The room was freezing when we arrived, around 60 degrees in winter. It took about an hour to get the chill out and two hours to feel warm. At the hot tub, everyone seemed to be waiting for their rooms to heat up. Breakfast was another letdown. The biscuits were still frozen, the gravy barely warm, and the choices were limited, with no condiments to improve the food. We ended up ordering from Bob Evans. The place was very clean and the staff were lovely. That’s why it still gets four stars.

For a cheap stay near the casino, this place did the job, and I’d return. It was an $8-10 Uber ride each way, with waits of no more than 10 minutes. The room was okay, though it could’ve been cleaner. The hard beds were clean, and I found no signs of bed bugs, which I always check for. The heat worked, and the pool and hot tub were fine. Coffee and hot water for tea were available in the lobby all the time, which I liked. Breakfast was basic: two generic cereals with only regular milk, plain bread, yogurt, a waffle maker, and juice. Better than nothing, and there are restaurants nearby if you want more. The staff were all friendly. Just set your expectations for a budget hotel.

I booked this for time with my grandkids, and it was my first stay here. The room was spacious, clean, and up to date. The pool was a little cool, but it and the hot tub were clean, warm, and open. The young woman at the desk was very helpful. I paid the extra $20 to check out at 1 instead of 11, so we could get more time in the pool and hot tub. Glad I did.

Within less than an hour of arriving, we packed up our kids and left. After checking in and finding our room, I went into the hallway and another guest sexually harassed me, making obscene comments and gestures, moaning at me. I called for my husband, and the man ran off. When we went to the desk to report it, state police officers were already coming in to find him because someone had called them. I spoke to the police and told the front desk what happened. Since his room was right next to ours, I wanted to leave. The desk told me to talk to a manager about a refund. Now they say they won’t refund us because the police resolved it, and the hotel said he could stay as long as he went back to his room next door.
