I've been here for quite some time and it's been worth every day so far. The room has white walls and grey, white, and blue bedding, a nice color scheme. It's renovated, clean, and wonderfully bug free. The water heater was fixed months ago and works very well now. I haven't had any problems with it.

We stayed at the Iris Motel in Mt. Pleasant, IA, on Dec. 31, 2014. The room was ice cold when we arrived, the bed hadn’t been made, the bathroom ceiling vent was coming loose, and there were hairs in the bathtub. The tub stopper didn’t work, the microwave was dirty, and the TV remote was broken. The heat eventually came on, and the manager did replace the remote with one that worked, but the stay was still horrible. When we went to check out around 9 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2015, management still wasn’t in the office, so there was no one to complain to. Zero stars!

The carpet was awful, the door and its frame were broken, and the tub drained poorly. The toilet barely worked, there were open outlets, and I’m still recovering from the mold. At least the air conditioner and TV worked.

My husband stayed there, not me, and he said they never cleaned his room or did anything for him. When he asked the man at the front desk for help, he was rude and belligerent. For $40 a night, it wasn’t worth it, especially when my husband said it wasn’t even worth $15. Go somewhere else. He’d have been better off sleeping in the car.

A local motel, with friendly staff. The room was clean but dated, and the AC worked great. Fine if all you need is somewhere to sleep.
