The pool was loud, so don't expect a quiet stay. Breakfast was okay, but I'm still angry about how the hotel handled everything. We had booked a day ahead and driven five hours, only to find a room that felt raggedy. The refrigerator didn't work, wires were lying around where I could trip, the coffee maker was useless because the packets were the wrong kind, and the coffee tasted terrible. The carpets smelled. At least the sheets, TV, and bathroom were clean. We called the desk as soon as we checked in. They weren't concerned or helpful, and said they were full so couldn't move us. After speaking with the manager, they offered 15% off and a room change the next day, but that never happened. I'm nine months pregnant and couldn't manage driving off to another hotel, so I fell asleep on the clean sheets and spent every waking hour outside. We travel a lot for family and work, and this was the worst hotel we've stayed at this summer. It was disappointing, frustrating, and disrespectful. They should apologize for how courteous we stayed through the whole mess. We're never coming back.

We picked Comfort Suites at Isle of Palms Connector Mount Pleasant, SC for the location, even though we usually stay with another hotel brand. We were there from 10/8 to 10/10. The location was great, but the air conditioning wasn't working right: air didn't circulate and the temperature wouldn't regulate properly. The room was very musty, and our clothes felt damp when we got home. I woke up with a sore throat because the air felt unclean.

The beds were just mattresses on rails, with no box springs, and the bed came up below my knees when I stood beside it. Both nights, a group of tweens ran and screamed through the halls and slammed doors until after midnight. We called the front desk; the man came up and told the girls there'd been a complaint, but didn't find their parents and the noise carried on. We won't stay here again.

The hotel was quiet and clean, and the room was at a comfortable temperature. I have OCD and have worked in hotels for years, so I really notice cleanliness. There wasn't a hair in the bathroom, on the floor, or in the shower, and housekeeping had folded the tissue into such a lovely bow that I left it untouched. You can tell they take pride in their work. The people are why I'd come back on my own. Lane greeted me with a beautiful smile when I arrived close to or just after 8 p.m. She was an older woman, full of life and energy, and so warm you could sit and talk and laugh with her for hours. Check-in was easy, and after a long day her welcome made my day. The kitchen staff were lovely too, and breakfast was on point. A young woman from housekeeping greeted me in the hall and stopped my phone from slipping off my shoulder strap. With my children, the experience has been amazing. There's so much ugliness in the world that people are often afraid to even speak to one another, and the people here made a difference.
