The dishes were the highlight for me, with great flavor, texture, and presentation. I had the catch of the day, and it tasted wonderfully fresh. On my first visit, the service and food choices both impressed me. Every staff member I met was helpful and genuinely hospitable, and the servers knew the menu well enough to explain the available options. They've made a loyal customer out of me.

Our tab was over $400 for four, and the things we still remember fondly are the burgers and cocktails. The cocktails were excellent, well above average, and there was a good selection of spirits. The burger was very good too. Most of the food was just so-so. One pasta dish had been sitting plated for a while before it reached us, and the crab pasta had very little flavor. The small piece of cornbread cost $11 and tasted like any other cornbread. We don't mind meals at $100 per person, but the flavors and overall appeal need to justify that.

We had a really good time catching up over a meal, and the service was outstanding. The staff handled the things that weren't perfect with care and diligence, making sure we had the best experience they could give us. The wine kept flowing and the food was wonderful. I tried chicken Wellington from the Restaurant Week menu, which was tasty and new to me. We also enjoyed the crab toast, another appetizer the manager treated us to, and a couple of desserts. Thanks, Post house staff, for making it memorable.

The back bar cheeseburger and Tarvin shrimp cavatelli were both very good, and the kitchen treated us to delicious beet tartare and cornbread appetizers. The decor and atmosphere were great, and our Bells of Jalisco cocktails were lovely, two spicy, smoky margaritas. The marinated tuna from the raw bar was bland and more like tuna salad. The Wellness salad was bland too. I'd stick to what the locals recommend.

The Post House won over everyone in our party, and we left thrilled with the food and the way the team treated us. I've eaten there many times and brought my particular family when they were visiting Charleston, confident they'd find something delicious. The menu's unique items raised questions for some of them, and the servers explained everything clearly. The team also brought complimentary versions of an appetizer and entree we'd asked about, and that dish ended up being everyone's favorite. The restaurant is beautiful, warm, and inviting, with Southern hospitality at its best. It's a must for visitors and locals alike.
