Embassy Suites by Hilton Charleston Harbor Mount Pleasant

We loved the breakfast, and Tommie was always there to greet us. She was fantastic, with such a sunny spirit and smile. It’s lovely to meet staff like that. The hotel is beautiful, well located, and has great views. Our room was nicely decorated and very clean. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it. Five stars!

The free evening reception was a nice feature, though some snacks had already run out by around 6 p.m. and weren’t replaced. Breakfast was complimentary and a highlight of my stay. Staff I met were courteous and quick to respond, and the lobby and breakfast area were clean and beautifully kept. The room was spacious but starting to show its age. Water pressure was low, especially in the toilet. The cabinet doors were loose, the shower faucet and toilet paper holder weren’t secure, the bathroom sliding door didn’t close all the way, and housekeeping didn’t clean the bathroom floor during my stay. Parking also wasn’t free, which disappointed me given the hotel isn’t in the city center. The location is excellent beside the Ravenel Bridge, and getting around by car was easy. I wouldn’t stay again unless the maintenance and cleaning improve.

The hotel and its location are beautiful, and we’re lucky to have it here. But the airshow lunch at The Tide was a complete mess. We’d reserved lunch and were charged $25 for parking, expecting to enjoy a meal and be reimbursed for parking. Instead, the food service was handled by one woman, who took over an hour to get a sandwich to go and also poured beer. The sandwich was made wrong, so we had to take it and eat elsewhere. We paid $75 for parking, one incorrect sandwich, and two beers. I’ve never seen such poor preparation or management. They had a security team to collect the $25 parking fee but no wait staff for dining on a day like that? Absolutely ridiculous. Residents, Hilton Honors members, Friends and Family, stick with Marriott.

I’ve spent around eight months here over the past year. The staff are incredible, the food is good, and the location is amazing. I’ve stayed at hotels all over Charleston, but from now on I won’t stay anywhere else if I can help it. In all that time, I haven’t had a single bug or roach, or any complaint about my room. They also accommodate pets.
