Comfort Inn & Suites Mount Pocono

Shantel was by far the best part of our stay. Her customer service is top notch, and she’s what’s keeping this hotel alive. Rodney, who I think is the pool maintenance person and does brunch, was extremely rude. Early in the morning he approached my son, who’s a doctor, in the weight room. My son is sensitive to bright lights and kept them low; as Rodney left, he turned them on after questioning him. He also came into the pool area while we were there as paying customers and questioned us about when we were leaving. It didn’t feel personal at all. I saw him at the breakfast buffet too. His behavior could shut the business down. I booked two rooms so my family and I could spend the holidays here every year, but if he’s still employed, I’ll never return.

The pool area is the reason this would have been five stars all around. Taking the kids there felt like stepping into a different hotel. The room was misty from what seemed to be a ventilation problem, everything was wet, and water dripped from the ceiling onto us while we watched the kids swim. The floor and chairs were wet too. The biggest concern was the very noticeable mold on the ceiling. Moisture clearly seemed to be a problem, and I don’t understand why that area didn’t get the same attention as the rest of the property. I hope management hears about it. The reception area was beautifully decorated, our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was really good with lots of choices. The staff who checked us in were warm and friendly.

Service was fine, but the place is shabby. The room was outdated and the furniture was torn up. Both vending machines were sold out, and there was no water in the building. I had to go out to WAWA in the snow just to get water. If I’d known how run down it was, I never would have brought my wife here for our 12th anniversary. I’m really bothered by this place.

The hotel was clean and staff were helpful, but we found a lot of broken things during our stay with two rooms. One room had a broken office chair and a thermostat showing an error, installed upside down. The side entrance’s lock was broken, so anyone could get into the building, which is a serious security issue. The pancake maker stayed broken for our whole stay, with a permanent sign saying so. Both toasters only worked on one side, leaving two of their four slots usable. The EV charger in the parking lot didn’t work either.
