The front desk woman was kind enough to move us, but the second room was just as bad, so we were too horrified to stay the night. There was more hair on the bed, urine on the toilet seat, and greasy handprints on the mirror. When we checked out, the desk staff were rude and dismissive. They said they’d refund us, then later tried to argue about it even though we hadn’t stayed. The lobby floor was so sticky our shoes peeled off it with every step, like walking on a fly trap. We didn’t feel safe or clean there. There were random people in the hallways and a small child running around unattended. The hallways were filthy too, with heavily stained carpets that looked as if they hadn’t been vacuumed in years, scuffed mismatched doors, furniture stacked in the way, and trash left in common areas. The smell was awful, a mix of cigarette smoke and old, expired food. In the elevator we saw a used Q-tip on the floor, and the operating license was two years expired. When we first entered our room, there was hair all over the bed, including some that looked like pubic hair. The toilet seat had pee stains, and there was a hairball in the sink. I travel often and have stayed in plenty of budget hotels, but this was the most disgusting and disturbing hotel experience I’ve ever had. I have photos to prove it. This place is horrific. I’m appalled it’s still open and think health inspectors should shut it down immediately. Don’t stay here under any circumstances.

Our room had several problems. The outlets were coming out of the wall and sparked when anything was plugged in. The bathroom light kept switching off and on, and the toilet ran constantly. The blankets were old and stained, and the room was dirty. There were also young children running around the hotel unsupervised. We were given just one hand towel and one body towel, so we had to go to the front desk every day to ask for towels to shower. The staff were extremely rude about it, and even getting basic necessities was a huge pain.

It looked good from outside, and there are lots of shopping places nearby. Inside, though, the hallways, elevator, and common areas felt shady and unsafe. The rooms were spacious but completely outdated. Our floor was dusty, the sofa was greasy, the corners had filth where there was no carpet, and the bins still had the previous guest’s trash. There were too many smokers in the parking area and by the front entrance. Loud music and people screaming from the convention centre behind the hotel made the night even harder. Luckily nothing happened while I was there for the night, but try to avoid this place.

The staff were courteous, efficient, and helpful, and the place felt family friendly. Parking was ample, and the location was convenient for a range of eateries and big box stores. La Conner, a charming town, was about a 20 minute drive away. Our room and bathroom were clean and well appointed, with clean linens and towels. Breakfast was a good hot spread: scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles you make yourself with syrup, cereal, bread, and muffins. I haven’t had a chance to check out the pool yet. I may do that today and update this review.

Wild kids, including four year olds, were running around unsupervised for hours, and the staff were mean, grumpy, and rude. The floors were sticky, there were no towels, the lock was broken, and an outlet had no power. The AC and heater were extremely loud, and the first floor back door wouldn’t close, which felt like a safety concern. The website lied about having a pool. This place was absolutely horrible and overpriced for this crap.
