Cactus Inn & Suites

We found two cockroaches in our room and reported them to the front desk both times. This morning they gave us roach spray and apologized. The housekeeper also let slip that some rooms behind ours aren't being used because of the bugs. These are actual cockroaches, the kind that could go home with you! We drove hours for a long weekend, so leaving halfway through would mean paying for another motel, with no guarantee we'd get a refund. They said a refund was only possible if we checked out early. 🤷‍♀️🤯

I've stayed here a couple of times. The rooms were cozy and clean, and this is definitely one of the hotels I'd come back to.

Management was great with us, and I'd give the service more than five stars if I could. They moved us across the street to the Comfort Inn, which has the same ownership, at no extra cost after we had a heater problem. The heater issue also continued in the other rooms they were going to move us to. Still, I didn't feel comfortable staying here with my toddler or leaving our valuables in the room. The live-in tenants seemed a bit menacing, and the whole outside smelled like weed. The room felt dirty even though it had been cleaned, and the second door lock had been ripped off. If that's your kind of place, go for it, but I wouldn't recommend it for small children.

BEWARE if you don't want staff getting into your business. One worker got involved in my personal life during a domestic incident, supposedly to help, and made false claims to get police there faster. They said a gun had been waved, but it never left the truck. That led to my significant other being jailed and my children being taken into custody. Later, I asked to use my deposit to extend the stay by just a couple of days because my visits fell just after checkout. They agreed it was for cleaning, then kept the deposit and threw my belongings out with the garbage. I found them the next day. There was no video, and the management and employee choices were poor. I could have spared myself and my family all this by staying somewhere else long term. I have more to say, but this deserves its own one-star review, maybe minus four stars. I have some love for the other employees, who I liked, but that one worker needs to learn that lying to authorities and then claiming stalking over a rubber duck doesn't help anyone. Ridiculous. They got into my business, I lost my family, and then they did me dirty over my deposit and belongings. What a nightmare, cactus inn.
