Towne Center Motel

For about $80, I got a room with two beds for one night without a reservation, and there were no bugs. The room was dated, though. The beds felt like box springs, and there was a hole in the front door that made me worry about safety. They could have replaced it or at least patched it. The front desk staff were very nice. Renting the room was mostly paperwork, with no computers, and they didn't even copy my DL.

It's in a handy spot, with Albertson's, a drug store, a liquor store, and a bar all within walking distance. We had a quiet, clean, spacious room, with a large mini fridge, a microwave, and DIRECTV at no extra charge. Management was wonderful. They brought extra blankets, and when we broke a glass, they came right away and vacuumed up the glass, then the whole room. Don't forget to check out the coi pond! I'd recommend staying here to family and would come back.

They allowed pets, which was a big plus. The room smelled nice, kind of like spices, and the air conditioner worked perfectly. The bed was a little uncomfortable, but still better than sleeping in the van. The shower wasn't working very well, though it did the job. Customer service was great.

There were drunk people in the parking lot who looked like they were about to fight, so my family and I decided to leave after maybe an hour. We handed in the key and left. About 15 minutes later, the hotel called to say they wanted to refund our money. We hadn't asked for a refund when we left because we didn't think they'd offer one. It wasn't a good experience, but I appreciated the owners' integrity and understanding.
