Aloft by Marriott Mountain View

Nemo made check-in easy and welcomed me so warmly. I had a wonderful stay, with a spacious, clean, comfortable room. The onsite bar and breakfast options were great too.

We only wanted to unwind and play billiards after picking up drinks at a nearby gas station, but our visit to the hotel bar turned uncomfortable fast. Instead of simply explaining its policy, the bartender tried to guilt-trip us. He said the bar was closing because we kept drinking our outside alcohol, and it felt like he was trying to turn the other patrons against us. It was embarrassing and unnecessary. We weren’t trying to cause trouble, just relax over a game of pool. The atmosphere quickly felt hostile, and the interaction left a bad impression. Respectful communication and good customer service matter. I hope management works on professionalism and how guests are treated in situations like this.

My room door lock broke, and I waited at least 2 hours for the handyman to come unlock it. They said they’d make it up to me for the bad experience, but never did. They always lie. I was also charged 100 dollars for damages even though the room was perfectly fine when I left. The locks don’t work properly, so imagine being unable to get back in if you left your pet in the room. I don’t recommend this hotel at all.

The location is the only thing I’d give credit for. What kind of Marriott chain has no restaurant onsite? Every room has a speaker, but nobody at the hotel knows how to connect it. The keycard fails most of the time, and the remote key gets deactivated too. I can’t believe they charge 600$ for this.
