The maintenance crew has been professional and quick to respond, and the apartment itself is comfortable. I also like being near the park. But after almost a year at Domus on the Boulevard, there are some persistent problems that make it hard to recommend. Getting moved in was stressful because both the rent and the promotional discount on my lease were wrong. I had to visit the leasing office at least three times before the paperwork was fixed. The elevators are a constant headache. About 30 units share two, and either one may be out for more than a week for reasons that aren't clear. The buttons often need several presses, and I've been stuck riding up and down for minutes because the button for my own floor wouldn't respond. For over a month, there's effectively been only one dependable elevator at a time, with the other going down soon after a repair. Packages are another recurring issue. I've had several DoorDash orders stolen if I didn't collect the food within about 30 minutes. Drivers often struggle to enter the gated building and leave deliveries outside, where they can be taken. Packages have also disappeared the same day they arrived. Car accessories were stolen from my vehicle in the underground garage without any broken windows, and the worry that anything left in the car might be gone by morning is stressful. The sound carries badly between floors. I hear my upstairs neighbor walking, shifting things, and sometimes dropping them, even at 3-4am. A baby crying at night has also disrupted my sleep. Even inward-facing apartments aren't necessarily quiet: in warmer weather, children play around the pool, and that noise travels through the building even with the windows shut. Check the Google reviews before deciding.
We lasted just two weeks at Domus. Music from the upstairs neighbor played for hours every day and came through the ceilings and hallways, so it was impossible to concentrate or relax. The leasing office said they'd deal with it, but little changed, and we started arranging to leave as soon as we realized the noise wasn't going away. Moving out brought another mess. We emailed repeatedly just to get the process underway. Although we'd asked to move out as of 09/02, they wanted a formal notice date and tried to bill us for another week or two. Communication and coordination were awful. They kept our full $600 deposit, listing "light cleaning," "carpet cleaning," and "apartment cleaning," even though we'd only lived there two weeks and left the place spotless. We weren't given an itemized list or notice of the charges. I contacted the office again for an update and, as usual, got no reply. It's been around 4 days. A complete disaster if you expect peace, professionalism, or a basic response.
Since I moved in in January, management has promised a package locker, but it's May now and nothing has appeared. That feels like an empty promise. Packages are stolen weekly because delivery drivers, especially Amazon drivers, often disregard instructions and leave them in unsecured areas. I've raised it repeatedly and asked for cameras by the entrance, or at least signs telling drivers not to leave deliveries outside. Nothing has been done. The elevators are unreliable too. Since I moved in, one of the two has been under repair or construction almost every month, which is a major hassle and raises safety concerns. For these prices, there are plenty of nearby apartments with similar or better amenities for the same amount or less. The security problems, unresolved maintenance, and management's poor follow-through make this place difficult to recommend.
When we moved in, we had to carry our things up the stairs to the third floor because the elevators break so often. Leaving was even worse. The leasing office first gave us an amount they said would be returned from our deposit. Later they changed that and said we owed money, promising to tell us the exact amount. We waited for them to follow up, then got a letter from a debt collector instead. We weren't dodging payment. The office hadn't contacted us with the amount, even though they said they would, and going straight to collections could hurt our credit. No respect, communication, or professionalism from the leasing office.
Moving out was a terrible experience. We left in April and got a deposit deduction notice that already covered the whole move-out statement. Then a month later, with no call or email, they sent a debt collector after us for what looked like a second charge. I tried calling the leasing office, but nobody answered. I went there in person too, and they had left work earlier than the time listed on Google and by the leasing office. The lack of communication is unacceptable.
