Pictured Rocks Inn & Suites

We found a suite at a great price for a quick winter getaway on a budget. The hotel was quiet, the rooms were clean, and the front desk was friendly and helped with my questions about nearby food. The kids had fun in the pool, and we enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. The small shop in the hotel was a nice surprise, with cute souvenirs. And it's always a plus to have hot coffee in the lobby.

The pool and hot tub were great, and the staff were nice. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the location worked well. The rooms need updating, though: the furniture was scratched, a curtain rod was broken, and there was hair on the bathroom floor. They really should have some donuts, fruit, or danishes. Coffee alone isn't enough, especially with space in the lobby and little store room.

The location is perfect for walking around town, the pool was great for the kids, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Still, the mildew smell in both rooms on this trip was a letdown. We've stayed here many times over the years and heard other guests mention the same problem this time.

Nothing fancy, but it was a good stay for the price. The location in Munising, MI is ideal for a budget-friendly hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, and there's a decent-sized parking lot. There's no complimentary breakfast, and the walls seem thin since I could easily hear water running through the plumbing from the next room. The staff's hospitality was okay.
