Hilton Garden Inn Murfreesboro

The rooms were nice and clean, and everyone we met was pleasant. Both Rebeccas were wonderful, one was our bartender and the other checked us in. The front desk Rebecca has lived in the area her whole life, so her suggestions for things to do, places to eat, and places to shop came in handy. We stayed over Christmas while visiting family, and the hotel was quiet, so my husband and I spent time in the lobby and bar all three nights. The two Rebeccas made the stay especially good. Breakfast isn't included here. I only learned that some Hiltons differ after the Hilton we stayed at on the way to Tennessee offered free breakfast. I believe breakfast here costs $10 or $15 extra. I'd also suggest asking for a room away from the elevator. Otherwise, the property was great.

The night staff made me want to stay. Ms. Rebecca realized I was about to leave after a room mix-up and did everything she could to keep me there. She showed me how nice the rooms were and offered free buffet breakfast to make up for the inconvenience. A kind male staff member was there too, though I didn't get his name. Ms. Rebecca handled a difficult guest who was yelling in her face with more grace than I could have. Some people are made for hospitality, and she is one of them. I stayed the first week of January. I'd booked a certain room, but it had been changed because the hotel was oversold. That wasn't the hotel's or Hilton's fault, though I was already frustrated. Besides the woman yelling at the desk, the room was clean and the stay was quiet. I'd stay again because of the night staff. I wanted management to hear what had happened and to pass along my compliments. Around 10 a.m., I told the morning woman I wanted to speak to management, but she seemed not to want to be bothered and brushed me off. She said management wasn't available and shrugged off my praise for the staff, as if she didn't like them. Some people are made for hospitality, and some aren't. I hope the same night shift is working if I return. They saw that I was about to walk out, recognized something had gone wrong, and did what they could to keep me there and happy.

Amberin checked us in and was so sweet and accommodating. The updated rooms were lovely, and the whole Hilton property made us feel welcome. Everything was very clean.

Zulma from housekeeping took wonderful care of me throughout the week and did everything she could to make my stay pleasant. Many thanks to her. The hotel itself was good, though the TV was old and had a very dark screen.
