Safari Inn

We left the next day after finding bed bugs. We could feel them crawling on the bed, and my boyfriend got covered in bites. When we told the man and asked for a refund, he argued with us and refused. He wouldn't even give us another room. There was also a stray dog that came up, and he argued that it was our dog, using that as a reason not to refund us. I've stayed in plenty of hotels that weren't fancy but at least weren't filthy or full of bed bugs. This was disgusting. No new room, no refund, nothing.

The door was standing wide open when I arrived, so I had to search the room to make sure nobody was inside. It didn't look like a newly renovated room at all. The floor was sticky and gross, there was trash, and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned. Every piece of bedding had cigarette burns, and the walls and furniture were beat up and falling apart. The whole place felt rundown and old, almost like an abandoned building. It looks like somewhere people bring street walkers for an hour, and yes, they have hourly rates.

It worked for a night when we needed somewhere to sleep, and the price was good. Our room was otherwise very clean and had no bugs, but there were cigarette burn holes in the sheets. The area outside our room felt a bit sketchy, with a lot of shady people around. We had two small kids with us, so I'm not sure I'd recommend it for families.

We used to stay here a lot, until the guy told us we'd left an odor on the bedspread and called us messy because he couldn't rent out the room. That's what cleaning staff are for. If you don't like messy rooms, don't own a hotel. He made us uncomfortable, and we won't stay here again. Don't stay here.
