The bed was comfortable, and Walmart, Starbucks, and some restaurants are nearby, though getting into the hotel from across the busy road wasn't easy. Traffic was audible all night. The towels were worn thin, and the room felt unclean enough that I’d bring wipes for the handles, remote, and other surfaces. The evening clerk seemed sketchy. He took $50 cash as a deposit but didn't process our cash room payment or give us a receipt. There were homeless people around, and a car alarm went off at 3 a.m. We were charged $35 for our pet even though the website said there was no fee. The advertised continental breakfast amounted to coffee and maybe one cup. The shower swung between too hot and lukewarm, and I've never before had staff inspect a room before returning a deposit.

I was told the deposit I paid was a security deposit and would be refunded at checkout, so I waited 10 days for it to go back to my card. When it didn't, I returned to the hotel. Mrs. Jones then said it was a pet deposit for my emotional support dogs. I explained that they were ADA-registered service dogs, but she said I needed a signed doctor's note, which I believe clearly violates federal ADA law. When I told her that, she said she didn't care and didn't care if I reported it. It's sad to see someone dismiss civil rights protections that also guard against discrimination.

Ricky was kind and accommodating, and they welcomed our two little dogs without any problems. I spent three months here and loved every minute of it. It felt like a little home away from home, a small bit of paradise in the middle of the big city.

The overnight clerk, a younger Black guy, was polite and really helpful when the heat in my room stopped working. My experience with the other staff was the opposite. A rude, nasty second-shift front desk clerk, an older Black lady, charged my card twice. Ricky, if that's his name, wouldn't help resolve the duplicate charge. He said I could wait 14 days and call back. He told me Ken was the manager and was out of town until March 29, so nobody was in charge. Then Ricky hung up on me and wouldn't answer when I called again. What a way to do business.
