The woman at check-in was nice, and that part went smoothly, but we left only 15 minutes after arriving and stayed at a friend's house instead. As I was about to get into bed, I saw a cockroach and screamed as it scuttled away. That was the last straw. The whole building reeked of cigarettes and weed. The room smelled a little better, but felt dirty, with broken-down appliances and crusty-looking counters. There was an ashtray despite the no-smoking sign. The deadbolt had been torn off, and I could see three other spots in the door where deadbolts had also been ripped off. The door didn't seal properly, so we could hear everything in the hallway. My husband and I thought we'd put up with it for one night, but we couldn't. If broken doors, smoky rooms, and demon bugs don't bother you, maybe this is the place for you. I'm never coming back.

The room was awful, with a sticky, damp floor and a strange, dank smell. The building also had structural problems, including broken windows, mold, and a cigarette smell. Stay at the Wingate hotel across the parking lot instead. The Mexican restaurant next door, though, was absolutely great. We loved it.

My room was clean, the pool was clean, and there were no signs of bugs. Some of the staff were very pleasant, though one woman working the evening shift was a bit rude. The furniture is somewhat old and some maintenance is needed, but for the cost it's a good place. It has an ice machine, washer, and dryer on site, and the owner is helpful when needed.

The room was large and had two big beds, with everything we needed. It was so smoky I considered asking to change rooms, but my child stopped me. If you're just sleeping there at night, it's fine. I'm not very picky and have stayed at different hotels, so I won't rate it too highly. I'll give it four stars.
