Spark by Hilton Murfreesboro

The breakfast fruit bowl had black bananas, which was disgusting. The pool couldn't be used, door handles and levers were broken, and the toilet base wasn't attached to the floor. A leak under the sink soaked the spare towels. Filthy. I can't believe Hilton lets this place be part of its chain.

Housekeeping did an excellent job, and the staff made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. They were helpful and got me checked in quickly and easily. It was my first stay with Spark, and I was very satisfied with the hospitality and had a great experience.

The hotel itself is really nice, the room was great, and the staff were professional and friendly. But the pool wasn't usable, and the breakfast was a complete joke for what the room costs. I've stayed elsewhere for less and had eggs, biscuits and gravy, grits, sausage, bacon, and waffles. They need to step up breakfast big time. It's supposed to be the most important meal of the day, people. The fridge is really small, and there's no microwave in the room. Having to take the elevator down from the fourth floor and stand in the lobby to heat something up is a pain and just weird to me. The sign saying to go to the front desk to buy something different for breakfast was a bad idea too. Overpriced junk. My wife tried a boiled egg and it was old and bad.

The lobby and rooms have been renovated recently, so everything looks extra nice and clean. There seemed to be a lot of empty rooms tonight, but maybe people just haven't discovered how nice the place is since the renovations. Shana at reception was cheerful and helpful. I wanted to watch a particular ball game on a particular channel, and she went to my room herself to check that the TV could play it.
