I’ve been staying here for over 40 years, through several changes of ownership, some better than others. As of the first week of December 2025, the place looks as good as it ever has. The check-in, though, left a bad impression. Our reservation was messed up, and that part was our fault. The problem was trying to sort it out. The hostess said she was sick, and that “everybody here is sick.” With her mask on, I found her foreign accent even harder to understand, and we got frustrated and left. We found a cheaper hotel down the road where nobody was sick, and the staff’s southern drawl made for a pleasant experience.

The room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable king bed and plenty of pillows. That TV was massive for a hotel. Breakfast was somewhere in the middle, just enough to get the day going.

Days Inn by Wyndham is a good pick when you’re visiting Murphy NC. Convenient location and great customer service. Ask for Lisa.

Finding a room on a Saturday night over Labor Day weekend wasn’t easy, so we were relieved Lisa at this place could fit us in. We’d booked the quality inn in andrews two weeks earlier, but arrived to a filthy room and were told there weren’t any others. This room turned out 100% better than that one would have been even if it were clean. Lisa really helped us out.
