The room felt bright and comfortable, with USB and USB-C ports and lighting I was especially impressed by. I arrived at 9:30 p.m. and the young woman who checked me in was friendly and efficient. The tub was peeling, though they’d put a bath mat over it, and breakfast was sparse but enough for me, cereal and juice. My real problem was the day clerk, who took my key without a smile, thank you, or much acknowledgment. She came across as borderline rude. Is that really how Hilton wants guests to be treated?

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the bathroom was so tidy I didn’t spot a single stray hair. The man who checked us in the night before was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Still, checkout on 1/15/26 left a sour note. The blonde Lady with the mask just held out her hand for my card without asking how things were or even acknowledging we were leaving. It made me wonder if she wears the mask to avoid interacting with customers. Breakfast was the usual basic selection, with nothing hot except bagels, and parking was limited. I hope management helps the blonde lady improve her customer service.

At 5:30am, housekeeping showed up and had a loud, heated conversation in the corridor for about 15 minutes. A couple of hours earlier, at 3am, I’d been woken by doors slamming, boots stomping and luggage crashing around. The front desk told me this happens every night from 3-4am when workers head to the oil fields, so it sounds routine. Possibly the noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Don’t book here if you need sleep.

On Monday morning, just before we checked out, my friend and I went for breakfast and found the eggs and sausage gone. We’d had them on Saturday and Sunday, so we asked Shelby what happened. She said the food was paid for by the morning staff and put away at 7:30 AM. That was a letdown, especially since breakfast was listed as running from 6:00 - 10:00AM. We made do with bagels, a banana, yogurt, coffee and apple juice, but the final morning’s continental breakfast felt incomplete. I’d assumed it would include a range of items, possibly eggs and meat, based on what I’ve had at other hotels and the definition I’d seen on Quora.com. We were in Nacogdoches, Texas, for a weekend from October 10 - 13, 2025, and chose Spark by Hilton for its closeness to a training center and Hilton’s reputation. The room was spacious and had nice amenities. Ariana made check-in and the rest of the weekend easier. On Saturday and Sunday, we initially couldn’t find the eggs and sausage because they were in an attached conference room, apart from the other breakfast food. We did find the coffee cart in the lobby. I joked to Ariana about our search, and she explained they lacked kitchen facilities, so the hot items were prepared at another hotel and brought over.

I’m usually a Hilton fan, but this place felt like a motel, and I really didn’t enjoy it. There were ladybugs in my room, falling on me all night. When I checked out a day early, the woman at the desk was very unsympathetic. The parking lot didn’t feel safe, and being right by a main road made it really loud.
