Shilo Inn Suites Hotel - Nampa Suites

The receptionist listened when we explained that our truck was going into the shop and we needed somewhere to keep our food. She found us a pet-friendly room that could handle our freezer and refrigerator needs. It was clean and welcoming, and the kitchenette had the basic cooking supplies we needed while traveling. As truck drivers who've seen all kinds of motels, we'd say this place is worth considering.

I only stay here because work books it for me. The website says “At your service since 2003,” but after my last visit I’d say “Out of service since 2003” fits better. The toilet in my room kept running for hours. When I finally tried to flush it, it overflowed onto the floor. I reported it to the two women at the front desk, who didn't know what to do, then called a man named Ed. He told them to move me to another room. I also asked why there was no tissue by the sink. They said their supply delivery had been forgotten, even though there hasn't been tissue in any room for over a month. And the front sign is still missing lights, so “The Shilo Inn” reads “The Sin in.” It has been that way for a long time. There doesn't seem to be much pride or accountability here, and the place could do a lot better.

We’ll be back. The location was great, everything was very clean, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The fridge was already cold, and the staff were great. The pool and hot tub were just right.

The lounge was closed, which was a letdown, and you can tell this older hotel hasn't been refreshed. Still, for what we paid, it did the job and I'd stay again. The staff were friendly, and they accommodated me in a way I won't get into since it might differ for someone else. We'd picked the place because we wanted a comfortable room near my son's football game and a hot tub at a decent price. The bed was better than most places I stay, and despite being right by the freeway, it was surprisingly quiet. There was plenty of parking and it was easy to get to the rooms from the lobby. The indoor hot tub had no jets, but the water's whirlpool action made up for it. The sauna was decent and helped us dry off, and the small pool was fine.
