That breakfast was embarrassing, and for what we paid, the neglect was shocking. There was mold on the strawberries, and the muffins and boiled eggs looked at least 2-3 days old. The eggs were like golf balls. When I showed a staff member the strawberries, she took them away without even apologizing. They should at least check that food isn't expired before serving it. We were there for one night and paid $370 for a room on the ground floor. It was unbearably noisy. The heater didn't work right, and when we called, the maintenance guy was extremely rude. They make it look like you can control the temperature, but you really can't. Absolutely unacceptable quality and service.

We love coming back every year, and this was our third stay at Swain House (19 broad) with a big group of friends. The porch is a fun spot for people-watching and a place for everyone to gather. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast, afternoon ice cream social and cookies, and cocktail mixers. The staff are great, and room service every day was appreciated since plenty of inns and hotels don't offer it now. It's close to everything downtown. Our room was on the back side of the house, which I'd choose again if possible, since rooms near the street can get noisy. And first things first, the bed was comfortable!

We didn't want to leave 21 Broad after our stay this week. The back patio was a lovely place to catch some sun or have drinks, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The building is wonderful, with beautiful decor that doesn't feel stuffy. Its downtown location puts lots of restaurants and shops nearby. We'd definitely stay here again.

The staff were attentive from before we arrived and throughout our stay. For location, price, service, rooms, and amenities, I don't think you can find a better place in Nantucket. I can't recommend it enough.

The people at the frying seat were exceptional. The shower was my one small complaint: it was tiny, even though we're not big people. It worked fine, though, and we'd stay here again. The rooms and location are almost perfect.
