The location and room size were the main reasons we were mostly happy here. It’s quiet, there’s a little outdoor area out front, and walking downtown or getting around the island is easy. Room 1 was roomy and well appointed, with a living room and sleeper sofa, a bedroom, and a bathroom with both a tub and separate shower. For Nantucket, it seemed like a pretty good deal for the price. The smell in Room 1 was really musty and hard to escape. The windows are locked, which felt silly as temperatures were dropping and some cool sea air would have helped. The bed was much too soft for us, trapped heat, and was wildly uncomfortable unless you like sinking into a soft mattress. The shower is cozy, but anyone over 6'5" won't fit. We'd spotted six beach chairs out back and called to ask about using them, but were told they don't provide anything for the beach. That didn't make much sense. We also called before arrival to make sure the sleeper sofa would be set up, and it wasn't. Neither was a dealbreaker on its own, but both were disappointing. The room smell and bedding made the stay really rough.

We stayed for the stroll in winter, and the property was still so comfortable. The location was amazing, and the bedding was too, especially the very high-end, comfortable sheets. We'll definitely be back!

The location is great, the decor is lovely, and it’s quiet at night. I remember the Centerboard from 20 years ago or more, when it was locally owned, with afternoon wine and cheese and light breakfast choices. I don’t think it’s locally owned anymore. Now you might see a cleaner pass through now and then, but otherwise it feels empty and quiet. They do leave tea, coffee, and a gravity bin of trail mix, but that’s all. The bedding was my biggest problem. The mattress itself is comfortable enough, but the mattress cover and sheets made it feel like sleeping in a plastic bag, or a giant diaper. The sheets came off, and everything slipped around. If they changed the bedding and put out fresh fruit and yogurt in the morning, I would have given five stars.

The rooms are lovely and the bedding was comfortable, with a good location too. This was my first B&B with no breakfast, just coffee and tea. There wasn’t fresh cream or lemon for the tea.

The Centerboard was squeaky clean, well maintained, and nicely appointed. It’s perfectly placed for downtown, about an 8-10 minute walk. It exceeded all my expectations.
