The location is great and the beds are nice, so this could work if all you want is a place to sleep. For anything like luxury or even a four-star hotel at close to $1,000 a night, forget it. Go spend your money with a local business run by people who understand hospitality. We were here over Memorial Day weekend for a birthday and paid close to $3,000 for three nights in a 'garden level' deluxe king room. The room's charming decor and nice bath were reasonable for two, though it wasn't large. But be warned: 'Garden Level' means basement. There were two tiny windows at sidewalk level, very little daylight in the bedroom, no bathroom window, and we could clearly hear next door. The bathtub was great, but it was still underground. The 'grown alchemist' bath products came in half-empty shower attachment bottles without any attachment, which felt cheap. There were no coffee makers in the room, only a shared Nespresso machine, and breakfast was a tray of cling-film-wrapped, sweaty muffins that the DMV would be embarrassed to serve. The main reason for the score is the complete lack of service. There was barely anyone at the front desk. On the day we checked out, one of the four rooms leaving had complaints ranging from no maid service to a thermostat that wasn't connected to anything. In our case, housekeeping threw away one of my birthday presents. When my wife complained, she got the runaround. A bottle of sparkling wine arrived 45 minutes later, which we appreciated, but it was nowhere near the value of the gift. From check-in to checkout, nobody seemed to care, there were barely any people onsite, and I don't think I saw a single smile in four days. Seeing that a real estate company owns the hotel made the lack of hospitality make sense to me.

We've been going to Nantucket every year, and our first stay at Greydon House was my favorite so far. The rooms are charming, the restaurant onsite is chic, and the location is fantastic. Tom, the manager, sorry if I got the name wrong, was wonderfully obliging, very kind, and knew the island extremely well. The front desk team was helpful too. This will be my regular place to stay on Nantucket!

We travel with care and look for thoughtful, high-quality places, and Greydon House exceeded what we expected for our weekend. Right in downtown, it put us near the Steamship Authority ferry, good restaurants, and shops. From check-in, friendly staff and an attentive, personable manager made us feel welcome and set a relaxed tone. We were three minutes from Walter's for one of the best lobster rolls you'll ever have, with a charming coffee and pastry shop directly across the street and the Whaling Museum just steps away. We hadn't expected much from the room given the location, but it was cozy and well-appointed, with high-end toiletries, beautiful shower tile, and an exceptionally comfortable bed. Harney & Sons tea and quality coffee were available all day, a much-appreciated touch. Via Mare, the onsite restaurant, was a highlight. We enjoyed every meal during our Nantucket visit, but this one stood out: some of the best oysters I've ever had, plus creative, delicious cocktails. The charming side porch also became a favorite spot despite the cool weather. We kept coming back to read, chat, watch the Memorial Day parade, or eat takeout there. Greydon House is a rare mix of service, charm, and location. We'll absolutely return.

The location was phenomenal, with downtown always close by on foot. It was easy to come back and drop things off while exploring. My room was amazing, with a very comfortable bed and a gorgeous shower. Every staff member I met was polite, friendly, and helpful.

Greydon House is perfectly placed for exploring Nantucket, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay. The property has a lovely atmosphere, with artisan-quality tile work, woodworking, and decor that give the whole place real visual appeal. The bed was incredibly comfortable, too. Front desk staff, especially Stephanie, and manager John gave outstanding hospitality. They were quick to respond to the small issues we had, and went further by suggesting nearby restaurants and activities and making sure our reservations were handled. Our stay was exceptional.
