The grounds are gorgeous, and the outdoor shower is a fun, almost magical touch. Town’s a bit of a ride away, but we rented bikes for $30 a day and had an easy, fantastic 20-minute trip from the ferry. It gets a little warm upstairs in the women’s dorm, though I still slept well. Great hostel.
There’s plenty of room to relax and chat with travelers from around the world, and the simple breakfast was a nice chance to meet people and plan the day. The internet worked well, the beach is about a three-minute walk away, and you can hear the waves from the porch. Everything was clean, and getting into the bathroom was no problem. A really enjoyable first hostel stay, whatever your age.
Sassy is so sweet and great at looking after you. It’s a cute little place with lovely grounds and the beach just a very short walk away. The accommodations are basic, no frills, but cozy and fine for a place to lay your head.
People from all sorts of backgrounds stay here, so it’s a fun change from a regular hotel if you want to meet someone new. The staff are the friendliest on the planet! There’s a sandy beach volleyball court and a fire pit, plus outdoor showers that are pretty fun.
I’m back for my third stay, and I still think there’s nowhere else like it in the US. It costs a small fraction of most lodging on the island, yet it’s such a delightful, one-of-a-kind experience. The beach is one of my favorites in any country. It’d be hard to find anyone with a credible criticism.
