The Moon Glory Room has a sliding glass door facing north toward a wooded hillside. It’s a very small bedroom with a queen bed, two padded chairs, and a little table, so floor space is limited and you need to move around each other cooperatively. The ensuite shower bathroom is similarly tight but does the job. To get from the Moon Glory or neighboring Iris Room to the indoor guest areas, you cross a short stretch of the second-floor deck outside. Jim greeted us at the entrance after we drove up the hill from IN-46. He was friendly and relaxed, and that feel carried through our two-night stay in mid-January. He showed us the choices for reaching our second-floor room, either outside via a wooden ramp and stairs or by indoor stairs through the guest gathering and breakfast area, then walked us to the back of the building. Aside from breakfast chats Friday and Saturday, with simple, filling food prepared at the house, we could settle in and explore the property on our own. Lil Black Bear Inn is an easy drive on IN-46 to restaurants, shops, and attractions in Nashville, IN, westbound, or Columbus, IN, to the east. Brown County State Park is nearby to the west. We’d recommend it for solo travelers, couples, or small groups who want to relax or explore a remote, beautiful part of South Central Indiana.

Jim, the owner, was welcoming and down to earth at this rustic little bed and breakfast. It was clean, safe, and quiet, and it’s close to Nashville and other things. My wife and I stayed overnight this past weekend for a concert. Don’t leave early and miss the homemade breakfast Jill prepares. My wife said the eggs may have been the best she’s ever had. We’ll definitely be back.

Breakfast was delicious, and there was plenty of coffee, tea, and water. Jim is super friendly and helpful, and the guinea are a great touch. We stayed one night at this lovely little getaway and will definitely return. The jacuzzi and fireplace, with the beauty of Brown county around us, were incredible. The beds aren’t the most comfortable, but a soak in the hot tub helps.

The breakfast was fresh, delicious, made to suit what we wanted, and served quickly with a smile. Our hosts also know the area well and had suggestions for places to see and go. Jim and Jill were wonderful hosts. The place is quiet and rustic, with just the woodsy charm we wanted. The rooms are small but clean and fully functional, and we found everything we needed. Nashville IN is a charming community with lots of outdoor activities and a thriving arts scene. You could stay at a commercial hotel down the road, but you’d miss this character. Teresa and I had a lovely adventure and will be back.
