The room itself was clean and nice, and we could walk to bars and restaurants. But the stay was a hassle from the start. I booked online, then had to call customer service just to figure out how to get inside. The woman who helped was really pleasant, but sorting out the codes, texts, and emails took way more effort than it should have. There were broken things in the room too, which I guess comes with no customer service on site. Parking is another problem: only three spots, and no garage. You can pay to park next door, but it’s $75 for 24 hours and there aren’t many spaces. We were only there because it was behind The Basement East for the event we were going to. Across the street, bars and clubs played music until dawn, so don’t come on a weekend unless you’re fine with staying up all night. I wouldn’t return based on this experience. If you know Nashville and can handle all that, you might be okay, but we didn’t and I’d book somewhere else, like the Mox, where I’ve stayed and loved it.
The rooftop has an amazing view, and getting up there with your access code is easy. We rented the 2 Room Flat, which worked well for us. One bedroom had a queen bed, an en-suite bathroom, a walk-in closet, and access to the 10ft x 10ft patio. The other had a king bed and a bathroom with pocket doors that can also be reached as a shared bathroom. Both beds were cozy, and the large windows had great views and blackout curtains. The raindrop showers came with shampoo, body wash, lotion, and a hairdryer. The kitchen is a good size and has what you need to cook, including a full-size fridge, stove and oven, microwave, and dishwasher. There’s also a slider to the patio, plus an iron and ironing board and a stacked washer and dryer, which we used a lot. The living area is a little small, though there’s seating for four to six if you count the two barstools at the counter facing the flatscreen TV. It’s in a great spot in East Nashville, just outside the city, with lots of good food places, dives, breweries, and 21+ arcade and pinball spots nearby.
The place had literally every necessity, and the rooftop view was nice. It’s near downtown Nashville, but parking is rough, with only 4-5 spaces in the attached garage. Otherwise you’ll need to pay to park down the street. There’s a rooftop bar next door, and it was loud every night until about 2am. They provide a white voice speaker.
The space looks nice, though the cleanliness was only okay. What bothered me most was the lack of an inside deadbolt or chain. There’s just an electronic lock, and the host confirmed that’s standard. Anyone with a working code or override can open the door, with no way to secure it from inside. I didn’t feel safe with that setup.
We enjoyed the stay and would come back. The room was nice and fully furnished, including a washer and dryer, and there were lots of places to eat and hang out nearby. Friday night, though, people had music blasting outside past 3am. The next night was quieter, so I’m not sure what was going on, lol. We almost went to the building next door, The Carter, because we hadn’t figured out the parking situation. Once we realized it was along the side of the building, not the back, we had no more trouble.
