The service was great and the food delicious, but the room was the issue. The bathroom sinks wobbled, the ceilings were stained, and even the door lock was loose. Getting up to the main house takes four-wheel drive. We got married here 20 years ago and it was wonderful, amazing, top of the line. Now it’s rundown and clearly not being kept up.

Michael at the front desk was charming and went above and beyond, even helping get a gift my wife left behind after checkout back to her. He patiently answered all our crazy questions and made us feel at home. The Garden dining area waitress was also super friendly and made everyone feel welcome. We had a relaxing, lovely stay, and the staff went the extra mile. Breakfast was much better than we expected. We didn’t get to eat dinner at the 1818 Restaurant, but meeting the friendly, caring chef has us planning to book dinner next time. Thanks to everyone, and we hope to see you again soon!

While sightseeing in historic Natchez, we stopped at the bar for a drink. The drinks were fantastic, the atmosphere just right, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We’ll definitely return, perhaps for dinner next time. Highly recommend a stop at this incredible landmark!

Our deluxe king room, Room 40 named Live Oak, turned out to be more like an apartment, though it had no kitchen. There were no mini fridges, microwaves, or coffee makers, but that didn’t take away from the impeccable atmosphere. The home is beautiful and full of history, and the tour and breakfast at the Garden Room are included with your stay, so don’t skip them. Ms Nichel ran the dining room all by herself and gave unmatched hospitality, with hot coffee, delicious breakfast, and great service. My husband and I had an incredible weekend at Monmouth. If you’re looking for flaws, you’ll find things that aren’t perfect, as you would at any historic place. I’d say open your mind, disconnect, unwind, and explore somewhere that isn’t meant to be chic and modern.

The rooms are beautiful, the customer service is fantastic, and the staff are very accommodating. One of the best B&Bs we’ve stayed in. Don’t miss eating at Restaurant 1818, the cuisine is divine and never disappointing.
