There’s a full self-service kitchen and all the modern amenities, but the air conditioning setup can be tricky. Each floor has one thermostat shared by all the rooms on it, so be ready for Southerners to keep the AC running whatever the season. Breakfast comes as vouchers for a coffee shop a couple of blocks away, so this isn’t a traditional B&B. It feels more like a very nice condo or cabin, and the house is more modest than most of Natchez’s lavishly decorated Antebellum homes and B&Bs. If that’s what you’re after, it’s still worth a stay. Downtown restaurants and shops are less than half a mile away, and the Bluff is walkable too. Several nearby mansions and B&Bs serve lunch and dinner, including Stanton Hall next door and the Guest House Mansion.

The Frederick Stanton suite gave us plenty of room to lounge, read, and rest, without feeling squeezed into a hotel room. We picked it on purpose as a cozy retreat from everyday busyness, and the beautiful courtyard right outside was perfect. The location is close to everything. Our main issue was the thermostat outside the room. It seemed to be shared with other guests, and the setting would change after we set it, leaving the room uncomfortable at times. Nicer bathroom soaps and toiletries would’ve been welcome too, though that’s just personal preference. We’d still recommend the place.

There were other guests in the house, but the rooms were arranged so our three nights were peaceful. The Belfast Suite was huge, decorated in calming blues and grays, with an enormous walk-in closet and a jacuzzi tub. The mattress was the highest quality I’ve ever slept on, just like during my last visit. This was my second stay at Stanton Guest Suite, and I’d highly recommend this one if you’re staying several days. Wish I could give it 10 stars!

Natchez is such a pretty town. We stopped for one night on our way up to Little Rock, and the Stanton House was gorgeous and comfortable. I had a really relaxing time and only wished we could’ve stayed a few more nights to enjoy the beautiful home.

Our suite was fabulous, with a very comfortable bed and nice accommodations. There was a little noise from guests walking around upstairs until after 10:30 pm, plus some sound in the hall. Aside from that, it was extremely quiet and enjoyable. Clean, well located, and somewhere we’ll definitely consider staying again.
