Sitting on the terrace as a big storm rolled in, with birds singing and the last magnolias still clinging to the trees, felt like paradise. The property is a beautiful historic place and very comfortable, and the staff were lovely. We really appreciated the ladies' friendliness and kindness. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.

Our suite was spotless, comfortable, and nicely furnished. Because of our mobility issues, we needed the only downstairs room. It was easy to reach from the car park without steps, though there is one step up to the large bathroom once you're inside. The Burn is peaceful, with plenty of parking on site, and a pleasant pool and garden for spending time outdoors. The staff are warm and welcoming. Nell takes great care of guests during the day, and Wahneta and JoAnn make a delicious breakfast, including an awesome biscuit. Be sure to take the house tour offered after breakfast. It's a short drive to downtown and some very good restaurants. Our favorites were Pasta on Pearl St. and Magnolia Griil, both with very large portions. Magnolia Grill has its own private parking lot. Most restaurants close on Sundays, and some also close on Mondays. Mammy's Cupboard is about a 15-minute drive, open only for lunch, and well worth going for the great food and homemade cakes and pies.

Nell checked us in, and she was also the one who answered my calls with questions before we arrived. She was so nice, accommodating, informative, and a pleasure to meet. Another staff member made us feel welcome too, though I'm sorry I don't know her name. We enjoyed a glass of delicious sangria at check-in, slept in very comfortable beds, and had a very good breakfast. Afterward, we got a tour of the house, and the owner came out to chat with everyone. That personal touch really added to the experience. My daughter and I stayed just one night in the Ernestine room. The Burn is very close to downtown and in a great location. My only complaint is that there's no coffee maker in the room. There is coffee in the common space, which guests can access 24 hours a day with a code. I'd highly recommend The Burn. You won't regret staying there.

Both owners are lovely, and the homes are beautiful. They come by in the morning to chat and see how you're doing. Breakfast is served at 9:00, the chef is really good, and the ladies, whose names I've forgotten, are so lovely. We stayed for a weekend with my husband and sister-in-law. It's a great place for any kind of weekend or vacation.
