Best Western Natchitoches Inn

The suite was spacious and very clean, with a comfortable king bed and a nice bathroom. There was a musty smell at first, though it improved once the air was running. Breakfast was better than average, with hot eggs, bacon, and sausage, and parking was plentiful. It’s easy to reach from the interstate and within walking distance of several restaurants and convenience stores. Check-in was simple, and I was even named “Guest of the Day,” with my name on a sign out front. I was glad I booked here and would stay again while passing through.

For someone who travels for work and does physical jobs, this location is handy. I can check in, shower, then walk to gas stations, Popeyes, Wendy's, Whataburger, or IHOP for a meal. I’ve been staying here for about 20 years, and as a Best Western diamond elite member, it’s still my usual choice when I’m in natchitoches Louisiana. The staff are consistently friendly, and breakfast is generally clean and kept stocked. They have community coffee and usually cookies in the late afternoon, too. The hotel has done a good job of staying updated. It’s fairly quiet, though that depends on whether other guests know how to behave. I miss the old dog, which longtime visitors will understand. On this visit, the bed was great, but the pillows weren’t very good. I slept well, and the new blackout curtains are fantastic. I believe the same owner has the other hotels in the area except one that’s now empty.

The staff were what won me over. Mrs. Patrica, who oversees the different properties, even went next door to get me a waffle because the pictures showed waffles. Mrs. Belinda in the breakfast area was so sweet, and my son loved watching the pancake maker. I don’t think the property is worth the price, but that’s what can happen in a small town with few hotel options.

The beds were firm and not very comfortable. The room itself was clean, as was the hotel, which sits right off the interstate. Breakfast was good, with both hot and cold choices, and the front desk women were friendly and helpful. It is a smoking hotel, though, and I could smell cigarettes in our room even though the rooms on either side were non-smoking. There was also a faint stale smell in the air.
