Motel 6 Needles, CA

The family working there were very nice. They brought me an extra blanket and two more towels, since the two small ones in a room for three people weren't enough for everyone to shower. Still, the room was filthy: dirty towels, sheets, shower curtain, window curtain, walls, and door. I felt awful after suggesting it to my parents. When I opened the door, my mom asked why I'd brought them somewhere so dirty, and I didn't know what to say. I always stay at Motel 6 when I travel because they're easy to find and affordable, and I guess I've been lucky before. Motel 6, I expected better. We paid $71 and some change for one night. I've paid less at the Motel 6 near Gaslamp in San Diego, and that room was clean, organized, and everything worked.

The place smelled like an old dusty barn or garage. Dust came out of the AC fan, the shower was dirty, and I wasn't sure about the beds. I booked on the spur of the moment because it was right off the highway, and now wish I'd driven a couple more minutes. Motel 6 keeps saying in reviews that they'll look into these problems, but people had already raised the same complaints months earlier. I guess you get what you pay for. Spend a couple of bucks more and stay somewhere else.

The room was a great price, with no hidden deposit or other fees, and it accommodated my partial handicap. Check-in was quick, and the man at the front desk was wonderful and patient. After a bad room experience at a motel in Bakersfield, California, I hadn't wanted to book through Expedia again. Motel 6 made this visit easy, and I'm grateful for their kindness. Blessings to the gentleman for such good customer service.

We stopped late, and the woman working was accommodating and friendly. The motel is right off I-40, which was convenient, and the room seemed clean at first glance. It had an unclean smell, though, and there were no bath towels, only washcloths and soap. One bed was broken, but it was usable for a few hours of much-needed rest during our trip.
